Army offers free medical care to sokoto community

The Nigerian Army has provided free medical services to the Tsefe community in Sokoto State. This initiative was part of the activities organized to mark the 2026 Armed Forces Celebration and Remembrance Day.
Inaugurating the exercise, the General Officer Commanding 8 Division, Maj.-Gen. Ibikunle Ajose, explained that the outreach aims to improve healthcare delivery. He emphasized that the program honors the sacrifices of fallen heroes and celebrates the dedication of current servicemen.
The medical outreach targeted immediate health challenges through free consultations, treatments, and the distribution of essential drugs.
Particular attention was given to vulnerable groups, including women, children, and the elderly within the community.
Brig.-Gen. David Ibeh, Commander of 8 Division Medical Services, noted that the choice of Tsefe was deliberate due to its proximity to Giginya Barrack. The exercise serves to foster stronger relationships between the military and its host communities.
Beyond medical care, the Army reiterated its commitment to national security and safeguarding lives. Leaders urged the community to continue supporting security agencies to help achieve lasting peace and stability in the region.
