Wearing the Cap is not the Same as Living the Conviction, Says BAT Ideological Group Convener
Comrade Bamidele Atoyebi, convener of the BAT Ideological Group, National Coordinator of Accountability and Policy Monitoring, and publisher at Unfiltered and Mining Reporting, has said that wearing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s signature cap or publicly associating with his name does not equate to genuine commitment to his political ideology.
He stated that true followership is built on understanding, discipline, and conviction, not on symbols or public display.
Atoyebi, speaking on behalf of the group, noted that many individuals who claim allegiance to President Tinubu lack knowledge of his political philosophy, leadership journey and governing principles. He described such loyalty as “surface-level support” that creates noise without meaningful understanding.
He explained that the BAT Ideological Group was established to address this gap by providing political orientation, leadership education and mentorship.
