Explosion Rocks General Hospital in Kebbi

According to an official briefing from Bashir Usman, the spokesperson for the Kebbi State Police Command, security forces responded immediately to manage the scene and restore order.
Usman provided reassurances to the local population, stating that the authorities have established firm control over the area in the wake of the detonation at the Bagudo medical facility.
To secure the perimeter and mitigate any secondary risks, a joint task force consisting of police officers, soldiers, and local vigilantes cordoned off the site. Furthermore, expert technicians from the Explosive Ordnance Disposal–Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (EOD-CBRN) department were dispatched to conduct a thorough analysis of the site and identify any lingering hazards.
“It is a relief to report that no lives were lost and no injuries were sustained,” the police spokesperson remarked.
He clarified that while a structure in the hospital’s residential quarters suffered physical damage, those living there had managed to exit the building safely before the impact.
In a proactive move to ensure public peace, the state Commissioner of Police has ordered additional tactical teams to patrol Bagudo.
These reinforcements are intended to stabilize the environment and provide visible security for the apprehensive residents.
Meanwhile, a team of investigators has been tasked with pinpointing the exact origin and nature of the explosion.
“A deep and exhaustive probe is presently underway to establish what led to this blast, and we will provide the public with more information as the facts emerge,” Usman noted.
The police command has called on citizens to stay composed and avoid the immediate vicinity of the hospital. They also requested that the public collaborate with law enforcement officials as the forensic and tactical inquiry progresses.
