APC E-Registration Key to Tinubu’s Vision, Says Ondo Governor
Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa has described the All Progressives Congress (APC) electronic membership registration exercise as a major pillar in advancing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s political vision and strengthening the party’s organisational structure across the country.
Speaking in Akure at the flag-off of the e-registration training programme for party officials, the governor said the digital initiative represents a deliberate move to modernise party administration, improve data management and promote inclusiveness within the ruling party.
He explained that the project aligns with President Tinubu’s long-standing commitment to technology-driven governance and political engagement.
According to Aiyedatiwa, the e-registration exercise will ensure that both old and new members are captured under a unified digital system, creating what he described as “equalisation” in membership recognition and participation.
He urged those undergoing the training to approach the assignment with seriousness, discipline and accuracy, stressing that the success of the programme depends largely on their commitment at the grassroots level.
The governor also emphasised the growing role of information technology and data-driven processes in modern political operations. He noted that a credible and verifiable membership database would enhance planning, strengthen internal democracy and support effective mobilisation ahead of future elections and party activities.
The exercise is scheduled to run within a defined timeframe, during which APC members across wards and local government areas are expected to be registered digitally.
Participants at the training programme are to serve as resource persons who will replicate the same process in their respective areas.
Also addressing party members, leaders of the APC in the South-West zone highlighted the importance of the initiative in building a stronger, more accountable party structure. They said the e-registration would help the APC maintain an accurate membership profile, encourage active participation and foster greater ownership among party faithful.
The initiative is widely seen as part of broader efforts by the ruling party to modernise its internal systems, deepen grassroots engagement and align party operations with the broader developmental vision of President Tinubu.
