2Baba Speaks Out on Past Controversies, Says He Has Changed His Ways

Veteran Nigerian music icon Innocent Idibia, widely known as 2Face or 2Baba, has spoken candidly about his personal life, stating that he has put an end to fathering children indiscriminately.

The award-winning singer made the remark in Benin City during the MC EdoPikin Undiluted with StarBoy and Legends concert, moments before he took to the stage to perform.

While addressing the crowd, 2Baba said he felt it was necessary to publicly clarify misconceptions surrounding his past actions. Speaking in Pidgin English, the artiste told the audience that he has been making the same declaration at various events to set the record straight, stressing that he has changed and no longer engages in the behavior that previously drew criticism.

He insisted that those around him could attest to his new stance.

For years, 2Baba’s private life has been a major topic of public debate, largely due to his relationships with multiple women and the children born from those unions.

His first widely known relationship was with Sumbo Adeoye, with whom he has two sons, Zion and Nino.

The relationship reportedly ended around 2009 after issues relating to infidelity surfaced.

The singer later had three children with another partner, Pero Adeniyi, between 2006 and 2012.

He also shares two daughters with actress Annie Macaulay-Idibia, his former wife. Their marriage, which began in 2012, was said to have ended in divorce in 2025.

In recent times, 2Baba has welcomed another child with his current partner, Natasha Osawaru. The relationship has attracted significant public attention, especially amid reports surrounding a controversial marriage arrangement.

The singer’s latest remarks appear to signal a desire to reshape public opinion about his personal choices as he continues his career in the Nigerian music industry.
