Woman Arrested for Operating Illegal Hone ‘Prison’

A 54-year-old woman has been arrested by the police for allegedly operating an illegal detention facility from her residence, where she reportedly locked up customers of her beer bar who either refused to pay their bills or became violent after drinking.

According to police sources, the suspect, who owns and runs a local beer bar, allegedly detained at least 36 men between December 2, 2025, and the time of her arrest.

Investigations revealed that some of the men were confined for failing to settle their alcohol debts, while others were locked up after being accused of verbally or physically abusing women while intoxicated.

Police said the woman allegedly kept the men in locked rooms until they either paid their outstanding bills or sobered up.

During interrogation, she reportedly claimed her actions were aimed at disciplining unruly customers and protecting women from alcohol-induced violence.

However, law enforcement authorities described her actions as unlawful, stressing that private citizens have no legal right to detain individuals against their will.

The suspect is currently being investigated for kidnapping, assault, and unlawful detention, among other possible charges.

The incident has sparked mixed reactions within the community. While some residents argue that the woman was attempting to maintain order and curb drunken misconduct, others insist that she took the law into her own hands and violated the rights of those detained.

Police authorities have advised bar and tavern owners to report violent or non-compliant customers to law enforcement agencies rather than resorting to illegal methods.

The suspect is expected to be arraigned in court in the coming days as investigations continue.
