ADC Confident of Victory as Governorship Candidate Bejide Declares Party Ready for Power
The African Democratic Congress (ADC) governorship candidate in Ekiti State, Dare Bejide, has declared that the party is fully prepared to win the June 20, 2026 governorship election, expressing strong confidence that the ADC will form the next government in the state.
Bejide, a former Nigerian High Commissioner to Canada, made the declaration on Wednesday while addressing party members at the ADC state secretariat in Ado Ekiti.
He said the party’s growing popularity, internal unity, and the rising dissatisfaction among citizens over the performance of the current administration have positioned the ADC as a major contender in the upcoming election.
According to him, “The party’s popularity, unity of purpose and cooperation among leaders and members, coupled with the growing disenchantment with the present government in the state, will give our party the edge in the election.”
Bejide recently visited the ADC national secretariat in Abuja to officially receive his certificate of return as the party’s governorship flag bearer.
He praised the four aspirants who contested against him in the primary election, acknowledging their support and commitment to strengthening the party’s chances at the polls.
The candidate, who spoke with optimism, insisted that the ADC is on course to take over the Government House in 2026.
“We are going to win the forthcoming governorship election and will have formed government at the Ayoba Government House by this time next year. I am the next governor of Ekiti State,” he told party supporters.
He urged members of the ADC across the 16 local government areas to remain united, focused, and dedicated to grassroots mobilisation ahead of the election.
Bejide pledged that the party will work tirelessly to unseat the incumbent administration and deliver what he described as a more inclusive and people-centered government.
“We will work hard to dislodge the government of the day, and the ADC government will be put in place in Ekiti 2026,” he added.
With campaigns intensifying and political alignments taking shape, the ADC’s confidence signals what may become a highly competitive race in Ekiti’s 2026 governorship election.
