FCTA Publishes Names Linked to 1,095 Revoked Abuja Properties Over Unpaid Charges
The Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has released a comprehensive list of individuals and organisations whose property titles were among the 1,095 revoked for failure to pay statutory land charges.
The affected properties, located in high-value districts such as Asokoro, Maitama, Garki and Wuse, were withdrawn after prolonged non-payment of ground rents and other mandatory charges, despite repeated reminders issued to the owners.
Among those listed in the notice are several prominent Nigerians, including former Kano State governor Abdullahi Ganduje, former Cross River governor Donald Duke, former First Lady Patience Jonathan, former Senate President David Mark, and former Osun deputy governor Iyiola Omisore.
Their properties were included alongside those of various companies and private individuals who failed to meet the statutory obligations required under Abuja’s land administration laws.
The FCTA explained that the revocation exercise forms part of a broader effort to enforce adherence to land regulations, ensure transparency, and boost revenue collection.
Officials emphasized that the enforcement applies to all landowners regardless of their social or political standing.
The administration has advised affected individuals and organisations to contact the Department of Land Administration for clarification or to pursue any legal remedies available under existing regulations.
