Bandits in Fresh Kebbi Attack, Abduct Farmers

The Gandun Wasagu community in the Danko-Wasagu Local Government Area of Kebbi State has been subjected to another devastating bandit attack, with armed hoodlums abducting several residents, primarily farmers, on Saturday afternoon.

The attack was reported by security analyst Bakastine on his X handle, who highlighted the severe deterioration of the security situation in the area.

The assault on farmers in Gandun Wasagu comes less than ten days after the community was targeted in a previous, highly publicized raid.

That earlier incident, which reportedly occurred at the Government Girls’ Comprehensive Secondary School (GGCSS) Maga in the same Danko-Wasagu LGA, resulted in the tragic killing of the Vice Principal and the abduction of at least 25 schoolgirls.

The repeated and brazen attacks have ignited widespread outrage on social media, with residents openly questioning the continued escalation of violence despite the security presence in the state.

According to the security analyst:

“This afternoon, armed bandits launched another attack on farmers in Gandun Wasagu community, Wasagu Ward, Danko-Wasagu LGA of Kebbi State, abducting several farmers.

The incident comes less than ten days after a previous raid in the community in which more than 40 people were abducted.”

Tension and fear are reportedly rising across the community. Residents are urgently appealing for immediate government intervention, increased protection from security agencies, and essential humanitarian support to address the hardship caused by the relentless insecurity.
