Rector Appeals to FG for Support as Ondo Polytechnic Graduates 3,901 Students
The Rector of the Federal Polytechnic, Ile-Oluji, Ondo State, Dr. Ademola Ebeloku, has appealed to the Federal Government for increased support to bolster the institution’s operations, citing growing financial challenges amid the graduation of 3,901 students
Speaking during the recent convocation ceremony, Dr. Ebeloku highlighted the pressing need for sustainable funding to ensure that the polytechnic continues to provide quality technical education and produce graduates capable of driving industrial and technological growth in Nigeria The Federal Polytechnic, Ile-Oluji, has consistently contributed to the nation’s technical and vocational manpower development. However, like many polytechnics across the country, we face significant funding challenges that hinder our ability to maintain infrastructure, pay staff promptly, and expand our programs,” Dr. Ebeloku stated The convocation ceremony saw 3,901 students, drawn from various programs and disciplines, receive their certificates, marking a significant milestone in the institution’s academic calendar Education experts and observers note that polytechnic education in Nigeria remains underfunded compared to universities, despite its critical role in producing skilled manpower for the country’s industrial and technological sectors. Dr. Ebeloku’s appeal underscores the urgent need for federal intervention and policy support to strengthen technical education and ensure polytechnics fulfill their mandate.
