Gunmen Kill Delta APC Acting Chairman, Felix Idisi
The political landscape in Delta State was shaken on Sunday following the murder of Felix Ese Idisi, the acting chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Ethiope-East Local Government Area.
He was shot dead by unknown gunmen, and details regarding the motive behind the killing remain sketchy.
Former Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, swiftly condemned the murder on his Facebook page, describing Idisi’s killing as a “barbaric act of violence” and an “attack on democracy and the democratic process in Delta State.”
Omo-Agege expressed shock and sorrow, linking the incident to a broader issue of insecurity in the state.
“I condemn this heinous act in the strongest terms and demand that the Commissioner of Police, Delta State, and the Inspector General of Police leave no stone unturned in bringing the perpetrators to justice.”
The Senator also alluded to threats, claiming that the killers had “previously boasted of eliminating their political enemies in the Local Government Area” and demanded their immediate arrest, prosecution, and punishment.
Omo-Agege maintained that violence is not the culture of the Delta APC, stating that the party’s strength lies in “winning hearts one person at a time.”
He vowed that the party would not be intimidated and would resist the “unacceptable evil culture of violence.”
The Senator concluded by commiserating with Idisi’s family, friends, and the APC structure in Ethiope East LGA, assuring them of his commitment to ensuring that justice is served.
