NDLEA to Confiscate Pretty Mike’s Nightclub After Alleged Drug Found in Party

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has announced plans to take over Proxy Night Club, located in Victoria Island, Lagos, following a weekend raid on the facility during an alleged drug-themed event.

According to a statement issued on Monday by the agency’s spokesperson, Femi Babafemi, the NDLEA cautioned nightclub operators, event organisers, and property owners against permitting drug-related activities on their premises. It warned that any property linked to such offences risks being forfeited to the Federal Government.

The agency confirmed the arrest of popular Lagos socialite Mike Eze Nwalie Nwogu, widely known as Pretty Mike, alongside more than 100 guests during the midnight operation.

Intelligence reports had alerted NDLEA operatives that the club was hosting a drug-centered party. Undercover officers reportedly monitored the scene from around 11 p.m. on Saturday, October 25, before executing the raid at approximately 3 a.m. on Sunday.

Recovered items from the venue included multiple cartons of banned substances, notably Canadian Loud and nitrous oxide (laughing gas), found both in the club’s storage area and with some attendees.

The NDLEA described such drug parties as serious offences under the NDLEA Act, stressing that those arrested were being screened to determine their individual roles. While most guests were later released after profiling and counseling, Pretty Mike and his manager, Joachin Millary, remain in custody after the recovery of over 384 kilograms of cannabis and other illegal drugs.

Babafemi added that the agency is initiating legal proceedings to secure the forfeiture of the nightclub, reiterating NDLEA’s commitment to stamping out drug abuse and trafficking across the country.

He further appealed to parents, guardians, and community leaders to intensify vigilance and collaborate with authorities to combat the rising trend of drug use among youths, warning that such behaviour poses a grave danger to public safety and national stability.
