Atiku Hails Kwankwaso at 69, Praises His Dedication to National Service

Former Vice President and presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, has extended warm birthday wishes to former Kano State governor and national leader of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, on his 69th birthday.
In a goodwill message posted on his official X handle on Tuesday, Atiku described Kwankwaso as a steadfast patriot and advocate of national development whose public service legacy continues to inspire Nigerians across generations.
“I extend my warmest birthday wishes to my brother, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso @KwankwasoRM, as you turn 69 today. Your unwavering dedication to public service, education, and national development continues to inspire many across generations,” Atiku wrote.
The PDP chieftain also prayed for Kwankwaso’s continued good health, strength, and long life, celebrating his achievements alongside his family, friends, and associates.
Born on October 21, 1956, Kwankwaso’s political journey began in 1992 when he was elected to the House of Representatives representing Madobi Federal Constituency, where he also served as Deputy Speaker.
He later became governor of Kano State in 1999 and was appointed Minister of Defence under President Olusegun Obasanjo’s administration.
Between 2015 and 2019, he represented Kano Central Senatorial District at the National Assembly.
Kwankwaso, who currently leads the NNPP, contested for the presidency during the 2023 general elections and remains one of Nigeria’s most influential political figures.
