Sujimoto’s Woes Worsen as Police Summon Him Over Alleged $556,000 Fraud

The Nigerian Police Force has invited Olasijibomi Ogundele, the Chief Executive Officer of Sujimoto Construction Limited, for questioning over an alleged $556,000 fraud.

According to reports, the police extended the invitation following a petition accusing Ogundele of alleged financial misconduct involving a business transaction gone sour. The case, which is now under investigation, reportedly centers on a disputed sum amounting to $556,000 (about ₦800 million), allegedly linked to a failed real estate deal.

Sources within the Force Criminal Investigation Department (FCID) in Abuja confirmed that the invitation was formally issued to the luxury real estate developer earlier this week.

The police said the move is part of efforts to ensure due process and allow all parties to present their accounts before further action is taken.

Ogundele, who is widely known for his high-end real estate projects under the Sujimoto brand, is expected to appear before investigators to clarify his role in the transaction and respond to the allegations.

While the details of the petition remain sketchy, police authorities have assured that the investigation would be conducted transparently and in accordance with the law.

As of press time, Sujimoto Construction Limited has not released an official statement addressing the allegations. The outcome of the police inquiry is expected to determine the next steps in the case.

The incident has drawn public attention due to Ogundele’s high profile in Nigeria’s luxury real estate sector, where Sujimoto has gained a reputation for developing upscale residential and commercial properties in Lagos and beyond.
