Makinde Commiserates With Arise TV Over Staff’s Death
Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has expressed his condolences to the Chairman of Arise Television, Prince Nduka Obaigbena, as well as the management and staff of the media organisation, following the tragic death of one of its staff members, Somtochukwu Maduagwu.
Maduagwu reportedly lost her life during a robbery incident at her Abuja residence, a development that has thrown the broadcast industry and her colleagues into mourning.
In a statement issued in Ibadan on Wednesday by his Special Adviser on Media, Dr. Suleimon Olanrewaju, Governor Makinde described the incident as deeply painful and urged Maduagwu’s colleagues, family and friends to take solace in God during this difficult time.
He prayed that God would grant the bereaved family the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss, while also asking for divine comfort for the entire Arise Television family.
Makinde further extended his sympathies to the media industry, noting that the death of a promising journalist under such tragic circumstances was a huge loss not only to her organisation but also to the nation.
