Father Arrested for Beating Daughter to Death in Lagos

Tragedy has struck in Lagos as a man, Kamoru Ojo, has been arrested by the police for allegedly beating his 27-year-old daughter, Shakirat, to death.

The tragic event occurred on Thursday, April 3, 2025, at the family’s home, causing the community to go into shock and anger.

It is reported that the altercation between Shakirat and Ojo got out of hand, and a physical attack ensued that would ultimately cost her life. Shakirat is said to have lost consciousness during the beating and passed away due to her injuries.

In an effort to cover up the crime, Ojo is said to have dug a shallow grave in his compound and buried his daughter’s body.

When the whereabouts of Shakirat could not be ascertained, a missing persons case was lodged at the Okokomaiko Division of the Lagos State Police Command. Homicide and crime scene investigators were later dispatched to scan the area.

Following their search on the premises, they found the victim’s body buried in the compound.

CSP Benjamin Hundeyin, Public Relations Officer Lagos State Police, confirmed the arrest of Ojo and stated that the corpse had been exhumed and taken to a public mortuary for autopsy.

An investigation is ongoing, with the efforts of the police focused on the revelation of how Shakirat died in such a tragic fashion.

The incident has sent shockwaves through the community, with individuals angry and saddened at the allegedly evil deeds of Ojo. The case serves as a wake-up call for addressing domestic violence and the need for support systems to be in place to prevent such tragedies from occurring.
