Ogun Father Cries Out Over Missing Three-Year-Old Son, Alleges Kidnapping

Salmon Ajuwon, a businessman and father of two, is appealing for help after the abduction of his three-year-old son, Rohan, who went missing on August 28 while playing outside their compound in Matogun, Ogun State.
Speaking with a journalist, Ajuwon recounted the moments leading to his son’s disappearance. He said Rohan had been unwell earlier in the day, so they played together indoors before he left briefly for a nearby spot where he usually relaxes with friends.
“About five minutes later, I saw him walking barefoot near me. I asked him to go home and wear his slippers. That was the last time I saw him,” Ajuwon narrated.
The boy’s mother assumed Rohan was with his father, while Ajuwon thought the child had stayed back at home with his elder sister. It was only when they compared notes that evening that they realised he was missing.
A frantic search followed, involving community leaders and multiple police divisions. “We reported to three different police stations, but no missing child was brought in.
The police collected his details, but there has been no breakthrough,” he said.
The distraught father disclosed that he initially suspected two individuals, including an elderly man and a local hemp seller. Both men were questioned by police but later released due to lack of evidence.
“This is not an accident. It’s clearly a kidnapping. If it were a case of wandering off, someone would have reported by now. It has been over two weeks with no word,” Ajuwon stressed.
He said the family has not received any ransom demands. Community leaders, including the Baale, have mobilised support and helped circulate posters of the missing boy, but no useful information has surfaced.
Rohan’s elder sister, aged seven, has been left traumatised by her brother’s disappearance.
“She has been crying bitterly since he went missing,” Ajuwon said, adding that his wife remains inconsolable.
Describing his son, he said: “Rohan is very smart, friendly and obedient. He doesn’t like going far from home. Even when playing outside, he usually returns after 15 minutes to check on us.”
The heartbroken father urged the authorities to intensify the search and bring his son back home safely.
