Isaac Fayose Denies Wishing FCT Minister Nyesom Wike Dead

Isaac Fayose, the younger brother of former Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose, has distanced himself from rumours suggesting he wished the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, dead.
In a statement addressing the matter, Fayose said his recent remarks about Wike’s whereabouts had been misinterpreted, stressing that he bore no ill will toward the minister. His clarification followed speculation that Wike had suffered a heart attack in London, sparking a wave of public reactions.
“I never wished Wike dead. I only asked after him because of the rumours flying around. I pray for his good health and for him to finish the work he has started as FCT Minister,” Isaac Fayose explained.
The clarification came amid sharp criticisms from some quarters where individuals openly expressed hostility toward Wike. Fayose said such expressions reflected people’s frustrations but insisted he personally did not share such sentiments.
The FCT Minister himself has also reacted to the spate of rumours, insisting he is alive and in good health. Wike dismissed claims that he had collapsed or was flown abroad for emergency treatment, remarking pointedly that he would “sign condolence letters” for those who wished him dead.
Isaac Fayose’s remarks highlight the charged atmosphere around Wike, whose role as FCT Minister has kept him at the centre of national politics.
By denying any ill intent, Fayose appears keen to separate himself from the harsher rhetoric dominating public discourse about the minister.
