Dangote’s CNG Trucks Begin Product Loading at Refinery
Dangote Refinery has commenced the deployment of its newly acquired fleet of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) trucks, marking a new phase in the distribution of petroleum products across Nigeria.
The trucks, which were recently unveiled as part of the company’s plan to ease transportation challenges and cut down reliance on diesel-powered haulage, have now started loading products at the refinery for direct supply to filling stations nationwide.
According to the company, the initiative is designed to reduce the cost of transportation in the downstream oil sector, improve efficiency in product delivery, and align with the Federal Government’s push for wider adoption of CNG as an alternative fuel.
Industry observers note that the move could help stabilize fuel supply chains, especially in areas where pipeline infrastructure is either unavailable or vandalized.
The CNG-powered trucks are also expected to significantly lower emissions, offering a cleaner and more sustainable energy logistics option.
The deployment of the trucks comes as part of the refinery’s broader strategy to integrate cleaner energy into its operations, positioning it as a key player in both the petroleum and emerging gas value chains.
