I Want to End Akpabio’s Political Career Boasts Natasha

Suspended Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan is making headlines with her bold claims that she intends to end the political career of Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

Her allegations—ranging from sexual assault to her removal from the local content committee and threats of assassination—have ignited a fierce debate within Nigerian politics.

Senator Akpoti-Uduaghan asserts that her ousting from the local content committee was a calculated act by Akpabio aimed at driving a wedge between the northern and southern regions of the country. Additionally, she accused him of rearranging her seating in the Senate to diminish her influence. Most alarmingly, she alleged that Akpabio directed former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello to eliminate her during her visits to her constituency, Kogi Central.

Despite the severity of these claims, they remain unsubstantiated, leading many to question the senator’s intentions. Is she receiving support from powerful figures to undermine Akpabio and, by extension, President Tinubu’s administration? Or is she simply trying to garner political traction and media attention on her own?

This is not the first occasion someone has threatened Akpabio’s political standing; former Senator Dino Melaye previously made similar remarks, seemingly to curry favor with his political mentor, ex-Senate President Bukola Saraki. In Dino Melaye’s words he mocked Senator Godswill Akpabio by saying “I appeal to Godswill Akpabio, that as a retired senator who is not going to be with us in the 9th Assembly, you should also continue or start to do those things that will continue to lead,to the prosperity of this country. Akpabio, I will miss you in the 9th Senate, but we will definitely meet on the streets of Abuja”. I thank you very much, my colleagues.

The battle to salvage this country is not a battle of numbers. His comments were viewed as an attempt to gain political leverage, drawing parallels to Akpoti-Uduaghan’s current actions.

As the situation develops, many are pondering what has led to Akpoti-Uduaghan’s sudden accusations. Is she genuinely trying to unveil alleged misconduct by Akpabio, or is she simply aiming to discredit him for personal gain? While the answers remain uncertain, it is clear that Nigeria’s political landscape has become significantly more intriguing.
