Insulting Tinubu, Rubbishing Nigeria, Complete Distraction To Greater Future,.Says Dr Adegbenro

Economic analyst, Dr. Rewane Adegbenro, has warned that insulting President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and ridiculing Nigeria on international platforms amount to distractions that could derail the nation’s pursuit of a greater future.

Dr. Adegbenro made the remarks on Tuesday while speaking on Beam Channels TV, where he emphasized that constructive criticism should not be replaced with outright condemnation of leadership and the country.

According to him, Nigeria is currently undergoing far-reaching economic reforms under President Tinubu, and such efforts require patience, support, and collective responsibility from citizens.

“Nigeria is undergoing critical reforms that are meant to set a new economic foundation. When people resort to insults and smear campaigns, they are not only targeting the President but also damaging the image of the country. This is a complete distraction from the more important task of nation-building,” he said.

The economist noted that reforms in taxation, energy, and social investment are geared towards long-term stability, adding that although the benefits may take time to manifest, history would vindicate the present administration.

He further cautioned that persistent negative portrayals of Nigeria abroad weaken investor confidence and hinder opportunities for growth.

Instead, he urged Nigerians to project a positive image of the nation while constructively engaging government policies.

“Leaders will come and go, but the country remains. We must separate political disagreements from our collective duty to safeguard Nigeria’s reputation,” Dr. Adegbenro added.
