Tinubu Working To Restore Nigeria’s Global Image – Dr. Rewane Adegbenro
Economic analyst, Dr. Rewane Adegbenro, has said President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is making deliberate efforts to launder and restore Nigeria’s image on the international stage.
Speaking on Tuesday on Channels Television’s Beam programme, Adegbenro noted that the President’s foreign trips, economic diplomacy, and engagements with global leaders are all aimed at repositioning Nigeria as a reliable partner for investment and international cooperation.
According to him, Tinubu inherited a nation struggling with credibility issues abroad, particularly in the areas of governance, economic stability, and security. He explained that the President’s outreach to multilateral organizations, foreign investors, and world leaders is part of a broader strategy to rebuild confidence in Nigeria.
“President Tinubu is doing all he can to launder the image of Nigeria abroad. This is why we see him actively engaging at international forums and holding talks with business leaders. He wants to send a strong signal that Nigeria is ready for serious business,” Adegbenro stated.
He added that the administration’s economic reforms, such as subsidy removal, exchange rate unification, and efforts to attract foreign direct investment, are tied to the President’s drive to convince the global community that Nigeria is committed to transparency and growth.
Adegbenro, however, stressed that improving Nigeria’s international reputation will require consistency at home. He pointed out that beyond foreign engagements, issues of insecurity, corruption, and infrastructural decay must be addressed to sustain the image being projected abroad.
