Posterity Will Justify Tinubu for Hard but Necessary Decisions, Says Shettima

Vice President Kashim Shettima has said that President Bola Tinubu will be remembered kindly by future generations for taking difficult but essential decisions aimed at securing Nigeria’s long-term prosperity.

Speaking at the State House in Abuja, Shettima described Tinubu as a leader who possesses the political will and economic insight required to steer the country through challenging reforms.

He noted that while many of the policies introduced since the beginning of the administration have been tough on citizens, they are designed to address deep-rooted structural problems and set the economy on a more sustainable path.

The Vice President pointed to Tinubu’s recent trip to Brazil, during which Nigeria signed five Memoranda of Understanding in aviation, foreign affairs, science and technology, and agriculture.

According to him, these agreements are clear indicators of the administration’s determination to diversify the economy and expand opportunities beyond dependence on oil.

Shettima emphasized that Tinubu’s courage in implementing reforms such as fuel subsidy removal and debt restructuring is a mark of true statesmanship.

“Posterity will praise President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for making choices that were hard but necessary, not for popularity, but for the survival and future of our nation,” he said.

Over the past year, Shettima has consistently defended Tinubu’s leadership, describing him as a revolutionary figure committed to repositioning Nigeria.

He has argued that despite the hardships experienced in the short term, the reforms will pave the way for stability, growth, and shared prosperity.

The Vice President’s remarks add to the administration’s narrative that the current sacrifices are building blocks for a stronger economy, one that posterity will look back on as a turning point in Nigeria’s history.
