Tinubu Back to Abuja From Japan, Brazil Diplomatic Shuttle

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has returned to Abuja after completing a series of diplomatic engagements in Japan and Brazil.
The presidential jet, which departed the Brasília International Airport Air Force Base at 12:57 p.m. local time on Wednesday, touched down in Abuja in the early hours of Thursday, according to a statement by his spokesperson, Bayo Onanuga.
During his official visit to Japan, President Tinubu participated in the opening ceremony and plenary of the ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD9) held on August 20.
He also held bilateral meetings with key Japanese government officials and business leaders, focusing on strengthening trade, investment, and technology partnerships.
The President rounded off his engagements in Japan with an interactive session with members of the Nigerian community, where he assured them of his administration’s commitment to creating opportunities that would discourage brain drain and encourage Nigerians in the diaspora to contribute more to national development.
From Japan, Tinubu proceeded to Brazil, where he met with senior government officials and private sector leaders to discuss deepening cooperation in agriculture, energy, and education.
His visit to Brazil, Nigeria’s major partner in South America, was aimed at reinforcing long-standing diplomatic and economic ties between both nations.
President Tinubu’s trips to Japan and Brazil are part of his government’s broader strategy to expand Nigeria’s international partnerships, attract foreign investment, and strengthen bilateral relations across continents.
