Joshua’s Future Uncertain Amid Jake Paul Fight Talks

Anthony Joshua’s next move in boxing has become a subject of heated debate as talks advance over a possible clash with YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul, while promoter, Frank Warren warns such a fight could harm Joshua’s legacy rather than secure his long-awaited bout with Tyson Fury.
The 35-year-old former world heavyweight champion, who last tasted elite-level victory in his 2019 rematch against Andy Ruiz Jr., has struggled for momentum following defeats to Oleksandr Usyk and a knockout loss to Daniel Dubois last September.
Warren, a veteran promoter, praised Joshua’s achievements, including his London 2012 Olympic gold medal, but argued his career deserves a more fitting finale.
“He’s done magnificently… he was involved in some really good fights,” Warren said, stressing that fans still crave the long-discussed all-British clash with Fury.
For over a decade, speculation about a Joshua–Fury showdown has dominated heavyweight boxing, yet the fight remains elusive.
Joshua’s promoter, Eddie Hearn, has admitted that the direction of his fighter’s career may hinge on whether Fury, now 37, chooses to come out of retirement.
Although Fury has stepped away from the sport multiple times, Warren noted that he continues training regularly for both physical and mental well being.
“The couple of times I have spoken to him, over the last couple of months, he has spoken about fighting,” Warren revealed. “But I am not going to encourage him to do that, that’s down to him.”
