Adamawa Government Actions ₦2 Billion Business Support for 40,000 Entrepreneurs

The Adamawa State Government has commenced the disbursement of ₦50,000 each to 40,000 small business owners under the Fintiri Business Wallet program, aimed at cushioning the impact of rising operational costs on entrepreneurs across the state.

The initiative, spearheaded by the Director General of the Poverty Alleviation and Wealth Creation Agency (PAWECA), Dr. Michael Zira, officially began today.

Beneficiaries include tilers, bakers, petty traders, tailors, hair stylists, groundnut oil producers, and other small-scale operators.

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri launched the quarterly intervention to provide financial relief and stimulate local economic activity in all 21 Local Government Areas.

The scheme also includes a technical skills and training component, which officials say will commence soon to further strengthen beneficiaries’ capacity for sustainable growth.

According to Dr. Zira, the government’s approach combines direct cash support with skills acquisition to ensure that beneficiaries can expand their businesses and create more jobs.

“We are not just giving out money; we are investing in the productivity and resilience of our people,” he said.

With a total payout of ₦2 billion in this phase, the Fintiri Business Wallet program represents one of the state’s largest grassroots economic empowerment efforts to date.
