Otti Hails Tinubu for Appointing Abia’s Oriaku, Other South-East Nominees

Abia State Governor, Alex Otti, has commended President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for appointing Obinna Oriaku as the Commissioner representing Abia State in the Federal Character Commission (FCC).

In a statement issued on Wednesday by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Ferdinand Ekeoma, Otti congratulated Oriaku and urged him to view the appointment as an opportunity to deliver selfless, people-focused service to the nation.

Highlighting the FCC’s mandate, Otti said the commission was created to enforce the Federal Character Principle, ensuring fairness and equity in the allocation of public positions and socio-economic opportunities across Nigeria’s federating units.

“Those appointed must be given the necessary support to make the desired impact in strengthening our democracy and fostering peace, unity, and development in Nigeria,” the governor stated.

Otti also extended his congratulations to other South-East appointees Peter Eze (Enugu), Jerry Alagbaoso (Imo), Nnoli Nkechi Gloria (Anambra), and Barr. Nwokpor Vincent Nduka (Ebonyi) urging them to justify the confidence placed in them.

He pledged to offer his full support to ensure their success in office.

Oriaku, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and former Abia State Commissioner for Finance, has been a vocal critic of Otti’s administration since the governor assumed office.
