Chelsea Humble Ten-Man Milan 4–1 to End Pre-Season Unbeaten

Chelsea capped off their pre-season campaign with an impressive 4–1 win over AC Milan at Stamford Bridge, lifting the VisitMalta Weekender trophy and heading into the Premier League season unbeaten.

The match swung Chelsea’s way almost immediately. Just five minutes in, Milan’s Andrei Coubis headed the ball into his own net under pressure from the Blues’ attack.

Moments later, João Pedro doubled the advantage with a powerful header from a Pedro Neto cross, marking his fifth goal in as many appearances for the club.

Milan’s night got worse in the 18th minute when Coubis received a straight red card for dragging Pedro down inside the penalty area.

Down to 10 men, the Italian side struggled to keep pace.

Chelsea kept up the pressure after the break. Liam Delap converted a penalty after Estevao was brought down in the box, stretching the lead to three. Milan pulled one back through Youssouf Fofana, who beat Robert Sánchez with a clinical strike, but Delap restored the three-goal cushion with a calm finish late on to secure his brace.

The dominant display leaves Chelsea in high spirits ahead of their season opener against Crystal Palace, where they will look to carry their pre-season form into competitive action.
