Breaking News-EFCC Declares Achimugu, Alleged Sanwo-Olu Linchpin Wanted for Money Laundry, Conspiracy

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has decleard Aisha Suleiman Achimugu, 51, and an indigene of Ofu Local Government Area, Kogi State, wanted for alleged criminal conspiracy and money laundering.
Achimugu’s last known address was listed as 6C, Rudolf Close, Maitama, Abuja, the EFCC reports.
In accordance with the rule of declaring a suspect wanted, her picture has been published and circulate, exhorting any member of the public who has information on her whereabouts to report to the authorities.
The news comes following shocking revelations that Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu secretly funded opposition parties during the last elections, potentially disturbing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s hold on the state.
The president was reportedly shown a report, which indicated that anti-corruption officials discovered money from Sanwo-Olu’s supporter, Aisha Achimugu, ended up in opposition leaders Peter Obi and Atiku Abubakar’s hands.
How big and for how long these transactions were taking place remains unknown, but still more is coming out.
The news has created shockwaves in the presidency, with President Tinubu reportedly furious and betrayed by Sanwo-Olu’s action. The governor’s alleged romantic affair with Achimugu, a married man, has also raised suspicion.
While Obi is yet to respond, Abubakar’s spokespeople have denied having anything to do with Achimugu or any money.
The investigation into how Sanwo-Olu’s financial linchpin Achimugu was able to finance the opposition leaders in the 2023 election has been initiated.
Achimugu’s alleged involvement in the scam has created waves regarding Sanwo-Olu’s governorship future and whether he will continue to enjoy the president’s favor. The EFCC’s revelation that Achimugu was wanted has added to the increasing pressure on Sanwo-Olu, who is yet to comment on the allegations.
As the drama unfolds, the nation waits in suspense for more news on this saga. Will Sanwo-Olu weather the storm, or will the scandal be his downfall? Only time will tell.
