Trump Gives Putin 10-Day Ultimatum to End Ukraine War, Warns of Sanctions

U.S. President Donald Trump has issued a 10-day ultimatum to Russian President Vladimir Putin to end the ongoing war in Ukraine or face sweeping economic sanctions. Speaking during a press appearance on Monday, Trump said there was no justification for further delays as Russian missile strikes continue to cause civilian casualties and stall peace efforts.

Trump criticized the Kremlin’s actions in Ukraine, calling the recent attacks on Kyiv and other cities “barbaric and unacceptable.” He warned that unless Russia shows concrete steps toward ending hostilities within ten days, it will face the harshest economic penalties ever imposed.

“There is no reason in waiting,” Trump said. “Putin must stop this war now. If he doesn’t, the consequences will be severe.”

The president stated that the planned sanctions would target Russia’s financial systems and energy exports, with possible secondary measures against countries and corporations that continue doing business with Moscow. He emphasized that the global community could no longer remain passive in the face of what he described as “deliberate assaults on innocent lives.”

The ultimatum comes amid renewed Russian missile and drone attacks across Ukraine, which have led to significant civilian injuries and destruction of infrastructure. Trump condemned the escalation and called for an immediate end to all forms of aggression, urging the Russian government to commit to peace negotiations.

As the countdown begins, international observers are watching closely to see whether Moscow will respond to the ultimatum or risk deeper isolation. Trump, who has remained vocal on foreign policy matters since leaving office, described the situation as a pivotal moment for global stability.

Russian officials have not formally responded to the ultimatum as of the time of reporting.
