PDP Reschedules Elective Convention from August to November in Ibadan

The Peoples Democratic Party has rescheduled its National Elective Convention to November 2025, initially set for August, and changed the venue from Kano to Ibadan, Oyo State capital.

According to PDP National Publicity Secretary Debo Ologunagba, the convention aims to elect new leaders for the party.

This development comes after the party’s 101st National Executive Committee meeting in Abuja.

The PDP has been navigating internal challenges, including recent defections to the African Democratic Congress coalition, led by former Vice President Atiku Abubakar. Despite these challenges, PDP leaders emphasize the party’s resilience and determination to regain power.

In a recent meeting, Acting National Chairman Ambassador Iliya Damagum discussed the party’s current state, mentioning the defection of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and other top party leaders to the All Progressives Congress in Delta State. Damagum vowed to reclaim the party’s mandates in Delta State through legal means.
