UNILORIN Student Laments Questions on Natasha, El-Rufai as Unconnected with Him

A University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) student has taken to social media to express his frustration after encountering exam questions about prominent Nigerian politicians, including Mallam Nasir El-rufai and Senator Natasha, despite having no connection to their actions or inactions.
The student, who shared a photo of the exam questions on X (formerly Twitter), claimed that he was being unfairly tested on issues that he had no involvement in. The questions asked students to analyze the political phenomenon surrounding El-rufai’s role in the current administration and his alleged efforts to unseat the President in the 2027 elections, as well as justify the suspension of Senator Natasha from the Nigerian Senate.
The student expressed his discontent, stating that he was not the one who led the coalition of opposition politicians or suspended the senator, and therefore, should not be expected to answer questions about their actions. He questioned the relevance of the questions to his course of study and the fairness of being tested on issues that he had no part in.
The incident has sparked a debate on social media, with many users expressing sympathy for the student’s plight and criticizing the university’s examination process. Others have argued that the questions are relevant to the course of study and that students should be able to analyze and discuss current political issues.
The University of Ilorin has not yet responded to the incident, but the controversy highlights the challenges of teaching and examining complex and sensitive topics like politics in Nigerian universities.
