TCN Boost Transmission with 250MW Equivalent

The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) enhances the national grid by 250MW with the inauguration of the new Bauchi Substation.
Through the inauguration of the 330/132/33kV Bauchi Transmission Substation situated in Bauchi town, TCN has augmented the nation’s grid capacity by 240MW.
Ndidi Mbah, the General Manager of Public Affairs, stated: “The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has inaugurated the 330/132/33kV Bauchi Transmission Substation in Bauchi town.
The inauguration, which occurred on July 3, 2025, has contributed 250MW to the national grid.”
The Bauchi substation project, as detailed in the statement, commenced in February 2022.
The substation is equipped with 2x150MVA power transformers and a 1x75MVA reactor, among other components.
