Oyo Government Slates BECE, Common Entrance Exams from July 7-16

The Oyo State Government has released the schedule for the 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) and Common Entrance Examination.

According to Commissioner for Education, Science, and Technology, Olayiwola Olusegun, the BECE will take place from July 7 to July 16, 2025, with exams starting daily at 9:30 a.m. in candidates’ respective schools.

The Common Entrance Examination into Junior Secondary Schools is scheduled for July 17, 2025, commencing at 7:00 a.m. at designated screening centers across the state.

Students are advised to arrive at their examination venues with necessary writing materials.

Olusegun directed school principals to ensure proper coordination and monitoring of the examinations, with ministry officials and the Oyo State Examination Ethics Committee overseeing the process to uphold the integrity of the examinations.

He warned students against engaging in examination malpractices and advised members of the public not to loiter around exam centers.

The commissioner emphasized that the entrance examination is strictly for eligible candidates, urging all stakeholders to cooperate to ensure a smooth and credible exercise.

This move aims to maintain the state’s educational standards and provide a fair platform for students to demonstrate their knowledge and skills.
