We’ll Stop Nigeria from Drifting I to One Party State Vows David Mark

The interim national chairman of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), David Mark, has pledged that the coalition of opposition political parties will prevent Nigeria from evolving into a one-party state.

Mark articulated this in Abuja on Wednesday during the unveiling of the ADC as the foundation for the coalition in preparation for the 2027 elections.

He declared: “This coalition transcends the mere pursuit of political power. It represents a united endeavor to restore the eroding foundations of Nigeria’s democracy.”

Mark accused President Bola Tinubu’s administration of commandeering “all democratic institutions” and steering Nigeria towards “total civilian dictatorship.”

The former Senate President further claimed that Tinubu is undermining opposition parties in an effort to accomplish “total state capture,” leaving Nigerians devoid of alternatives in the 2027 elections.

Mark asserted that the ADC was “not simply another electoral vehicle but a bastion and platform for our rejuvenated democracy.”
