Wike Denies Allocating Choice Lands to Sons, Dismisses Report as Mischievous

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has once again denied allegations of allocating land to his children, calling the reports baseless and mischievous.

Lere Olayinka, Wike’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media, stated that the claims are part of a smear campaign orchestrated by unnamed political actors.

According to Olayinka, previous reports claiming Wike allocated 2,082 hectares of land in Maitama and Asokoro to his son lacked solid evidence.

He explained that while Wike’s family members have the right to own property anywhere in Nigeria, including the FCT, provided they meet the necessary conditions, no land has been allocated to his children.

Olayinka clarified that a company called Jordan Farms and Estates Limited did receive a land allocation, but it is a registered Nigerian entity with no connection to Wike’s children.

“Just because one of the minister’s sons is named Jordan and there’s a company called Jordan Farms doesn’t mean the company belongs to him,” he said, challenging the publishers of these stories to reveal the company’s ownership records.

Wike’s aide emphasized that the minister remains committed to his developmental initiatives in the FCT under President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, and these allegations won’t deter him. The minister has repeatedly denied similar allegations, with his office describing them as “malicious falsehoods” spread by “quack journalists”.
