Disclose the Terms of His Capitulation, Abati, Rufai Demands on Reconciliation of Wike, Fubara

Journalists, Reuben Abati and Rufai Oseni have expressed their views on the recent reconciliation between the suspended Rivers State Governor, Similayi Fubara, and his estranged political mentor, Nyesom Wike.
Wike resolved his dispute with Fubara, and their reunion was publicly announced during a visit to President Bola Tinubu on Thursday night, following several months of animosity between the two politicians.
The contention over the control of Rivers’ political resources had led to a fierce confrontation between Wike and Fubara.
This confrontation also resulted in the factionalization of the Rivers House of Assembly under the leadership of Martins Amaewhule.
In an effort to prevent the crisis from escalating into a significant security threat, Tinubu declared a state of emergency in Rivers State and appointed retired Vice Admiral Ibok-Ete Ibas as Sole Administrator.
Discussing the development on Arise News’ The Morning Show on Friday, Abati asserted that Fubara’s actions amounted to an unconditional capitulation, showcasing his timidity, while Rufai maintained that the conflict between the two men was fundamentally about the state’s resources.
Rufai remarked, “Initially, the conflict centered around the state’s resources, and now they have successfully coerced Fubara.”
Abati further commented, “Fubara’s actions were an unconditional capitulation, revealing his timidity. What are the terms of that capitulation? We’d like to know.”
