No Missiles Struck Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar Amid Iranian Assault

No Iranian missiles struck the U.S. military’s Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar during a recent assault, according to U.S. officials speaking to Reuters.

The attack, which involved short- and medium-range missiles, is expected to have far-reaching implications for regional diplomacy.

A senior Gulf official, speaking on condition of anonymity, told Reuters that the Iranian strike threatens ongoing efforts to improve relations between Iran and the Arab Gulf states.

“Iran’s actions serve Israel’s interests, as they aim to provoke instability and undermine the progress recently made in Gulf-Iranian relations,” the official said.

Over the past few years, regional powers such as Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates have worked to repair previously tense ties with Tehran.

However, in the wake of recent U.S. strikes, a senior Iranian official told Reuters that Iran will continue its retaliatory measures.

Despite the attempted missile strike, U.S. defense officials confirmed that no impacts were recorded at Al Udeid, the largest U.S. military base in the Middle East.

Additionally, a source familiar with the matter confirmed that there has been no disruption to QatarEnergy’s production or shipments, indicating the missile assault had no effect on the country’s vital energy sector.

The attack has drawn widespread condemnation across the region. As of Monday night, Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt, Morocco, Jordan, Lebanon, Turkey, Yemen, and the Palestinian Authority have all issued statements denouncing the ballistic missile strike on Qatari soil.

The failed strike underscores rising tensions and growing uncertainty in the Gulf, as world powers weigh the consequences of escalating hostilities in an already volatile region.
