Taraba Woman, Halima Yusuf, Arrested for Supplying Ammunition to Bandits

A shocking incident has unfolded in the troubled region of Jibia and Katsina, where a woman from Taraba State, identified as Halima Yusuf, was apprehended by security operatives while conveying a large cache of ammunition to bandits operating in the area.

According to eyewitnesses, Halima, a 32-year-old resident of Wukari Local Government Area in Taraba State, was intercepted by a joint team of security personnel, comprising soldiers and police officers, who had been tracking her movements for several days.

The security team, acting on intelligence gathered from reliable sources, had set up a roadblock along the Jibia-Katsina road, where they stopped Halima’s vehicle and conducted a thorough search.

The search yielded a large quantity of ammunition, including live bullets, guns, and other lethal weapons, which were cleverly concealed in the vehicle.

Halima, who was arrested on the spot, confessed to being a supplier of arms and ammunition to the bandits, who have been terrorizing communities in the region.

She claimed to have been working with a notorious bandit leader, known only by his alias, “Dogo”, who has been responsible for several attacks and kidnappings in the area.

The arrest of Halima Yusuf has sent shockwaves throughout the region, as it highlights the level of involvement of some individuals in the banditry activities that have plagued the region.

The security operatives have commended the bravery of the eyewitnesses who provided the intelligence that led to Halima’s arrest, and have vowed to continue their efforts to rid the region of banditry and other forms of criminality.

Halima is currently being detained by the security operatives and is expected to face prosecution for her role in supplying arms and ammunition to the bandits.

The incident has also raised concerns about the level of complicity among some members of the community, who may be providing support to the bandits, and has sparked calls for greater vigilance and cooperation between the security agencies and the public in the fight against banditry.
