Tinubu to Address N”Assembly Joint Session on June 12

Nigerian lawmakers are set to convene a special joint session at the National Assembly Complex in Abuja, where President Bola Tinubu will deliver a key address.
This significant event is scheduled to take place on June 12, a day that marks a pivotal moment in the country’s history, commemorating the 1993 presidential election won by the late Moshood Abiola, which was unfortunately annulled by the military regime of Gen Ibrahim Babangida.
According to Akin Rotimi, Spokesman for the House of Representatives, the joint sitting will commence at 11:00 AM, with preliminary proceedings preceding the arrival of President Tinubu at 12:00 noon. Yahaya Danzaria, the House Clerk, had earlier informed members of the event through an internal memorandum.
The celebration, themed ’26 years of democracy: Renewing our commitment to national development’, will feature President Tinubu as the Special Guest of Honour, where he will address the joint sitting.
The programme will also include goodwill messages from former presiding officers of the National Assembly, as well as the conferment of National Honours on select legislators by President Tinubu.
