Musk Deletes Bombshell Trump-Epstein Post
Tech billionaire, Elon Musk has deleted a controversial post in which he alleged that former U.S. President Donald Trump was “in the Epstein files,” sparking fresh controversy in an already heated feud between the two influential figures.
In a post shared on his social media platform, X (formerly Twitter), Musk claimed: “@realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public.”
The statement, which quickly went viral, was viewed by millions before being quietly deleted just hours later.
Musk’s post referred to documents tied to the late financier and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. While Trump’s name has appeared in publicly available Epstein flight logs and contact books, no credible evidence has surfaced implicating the former president in any criminal wrongdoing. Legal experts and even Epstein’s former defense attorney, David Schoen, have publicly stated that there is “nothing” in the files that suggests criminal liability on Trump’s part.
The now-deleted post came amid rising tensions between Musk and Trump over political influence and policy direction. Just days earlier, Musk had floated the idea of backing a new political movement “The America Party” and called for Trump’s impeachment following a contentious national spending bill.
In response, Trump lashed out at Musk on Truth Social, threatening to revoke government contracts linked to Musk’s companies.
The feud appears to have had market consequences. Tesla stock reportedly dropped nearly 10% a plunge amounting to roughly $150 billion in lost market value amid the political firestorm and investor anxiety.
According to insiders familiar with the situation, Musk deleted the post in what appears to be a gesture toward de-escalation. While neither Musk nor his spokespeople have provided an official statement, sources close to the matter say the SpaceX and Tesla CEO has opted to shift focus back to his business priorities after the uproar.
The deleted post has fueled renewed public scrutiny over the intersection of elite power, unverified claims, and the long shadow cast by Epstein’s legacy. Critics argue Musk’s comment was reckless and risked misleading the public, while supporters say it reflects growing frustration with perceived government opacity regarding the Epstein case.
As political tensions continue to rise ahead of the 2026 U.S. midterm elections, this episode adds another chapter to the volatile and increasingly personal rivalry between two of the most influential figures in American public life.
