Tinubu Urges Nigerians to Embody Sacrifice, Devotion as Eid-el-Kabir Celebrations Begin
President Bola Tinubu has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Nigerian Muslims and the global Muslim Ummah as they celebrate this year’s Eid-el-Kabir, urging citizens to embody the core values of sacrifice, devotion, and selflessness that the festival represents.
In a statement released on the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir, President Tinubu reflected on the significance of the festival, which commemorates the willingness of Prophet Ibrahim (AS) to sacrifice his son in obedience to Allah’s command. He emphasized the importance of gratitude, resilience, tolerance, compassion, and dedication to the progress of the country.
The President also reaffirmed his commitment to the values of the festival, expressing his appreciation for the faith, patience, and perseverance of Nigerians as his administration implements bold reforms.
He assured citizens that the toughest days are behind them and that the country is entering a new era of renewed hope and prosperity.
President Tinubu also used the occasion to acknowledge the recent sad developments in the country, including the heavy flooding in Mokwa, Niger State, which resulted in loss of lives and destruction of properties. He called on Nigerians to pray for the repose of the souls of those who lost their lives and to join hands with the government to bring succour to the affected people.
The President further urged Nigerians to continue their prayers for the country’s front-line officers, leaders, and the nation as a whole, seeking God’s guidance and blessings for peace and prosperity.
As the nation celebrates Eid-el-Kabir, President Tinubu prayed that the joy and blessings of the festival would multiply in the lives of Nigerians and the country, and that Almighty Allah would accept their worship and devotion as acts of Ibadah.
