EFCC Declare Folashade Odelana, Bamidele Ayodele Abiodun Wanted over CBEX Scam

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has issued a wanted notice for two additional suspects implicated in the purported N1 billion cryptocurrency fraud associated with Crypto Bridge Exchange (CBEX).

In an announcement disseminated via its official X account on Wednesday, the commission identified the individuals sought as Folashade Odelana and Bamidele Ayodele Abiodun.

According to the announcement, the last known residence of the suspects is No. 17 Oremeta Street, Allen Avenue, Ikeja, Lagos.

The anti-corruption agency has appealed to the public for any pertinent information regarding their whereabouts, urging them to contact any of its offices across the nation.

This recent development raises the tally of individuals declared wanted in connection with the CBEX fraud to 10.

In April 2025, CBEX users sounded the alarm after being unable to access or withdraw their investments.

The incident, which affected numerous Nigerians, incited public indignation as several individuals reported significant financial losses due to the collapsed cryptocurrency platform.

Previously, the EFCC declared eight individuals wanted in relation to the case.

They are Adefowora Abiodun Olanipekun, Adefowora Oluwanisola, Emmanuel Uko, Seyi Oloyede, Johnson Okiroh Otieno, Israel Mbaluka, Joseph Michiro Kabera, and Serah Michiro.

The commission also procured arrest warrants for six of the suspects, namely, Olanipekun, Oluwanisola, Uko, Oloyede, Avwerosuo Otorudo, and Chukwuebuka Ehirim.

Ola Olukoyede, the chairman of the EFCC, assured victims of the financial deception that the commission is making strides in its investigation and recovery efforts.

He stated that “a reasonable amount” of funds has already been recuperated and some arrests have been effected.

The EFCC chairman affirmed the commission’s dedication to bringing all those involved in the alleged scam to justice and recovering as much of the misappropriated funds as possible.
