Nollywood Actor Godwin Nnadiekwe Hospitalized After On-Set Injury

Nollywood thespian, Godwin Nnadiekwe has been admitted to a hospital due to internal hemorrhaging after being struck in the chest by fellow actor Zubby Michael during a film production.
His management issued an official communiqué on Saturday evening, verifying the incident and his current condition.
“We regret to announce that Actor Godwin Nnadiekwe was urgently taken to the hospital this evening. He is receiving medical attention for internal bleeding following an incident involving a chest kick during filming with his colleague Zubby Michael.
“We are dedicated to providing the utmost care and will ensure prompt updates are communicated to the public and the AGN board. We appreciate your concern and kind wishes for Godwin during this period. Please keep Godwin in your thoughts,” the statement disclosed.
Prior to the statement, Nnadiekwe had divulged details of the incident on Instagram, elucidating that Michael’s kick was unscripted and underscoring the necessity for enhanced safety protocols on set.
“I just wanted to share an occurrence that transpired on set a few days ago. This isn’t an attempt to single anyone out, but it serves as a grave reminder to prioritize one another’s safety on set.
“During a scene, I was kicked in the chest by my colleague, which was neither part of the script nor directed by the director. It has inflicted significant pain upon me. I had to procure medication for my chest to alleviate the discomfort today. I managed all of this independently, without any assistance,” he penned.

Nnadiekwe also lambasted the absence of medical support during the filming and urged for heightened accountability in Nollywood productions.
“When we operate without insurance policies or readily accessible first aid, unforeseen physical actions like this, even if inadvertent, can have tangible repercussions. Let us pledge to adhere to the script and ensure everyone feels secure and respected.
“What if something more severe had occurred? Or if this had taken a turn for the worse? Every action on set, especially physical ones, must be deliberate and align with the director’s vision,” he said.
