Oyo Governor’s Budget Adviser, Simeon Oyeleke Resigns Appointment
The Oyo State Governor’s Special Adviser on Budget and Economic Planning, Hon. Simeon Adegbola Oyeleke, has resigned from his position in the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde, effective November 2, 2026.
Oyeleke communicated his decision in a resignation letter dated November 2 and addressed to the governor through the Office of the Chief of Staff.
Although he did not state his reasons for leaving in the formal resignation letter, a separate account of his departure indicated that he was dissatisfied with the working environment and felt unable to effectively advance the aspirations of his people within the administration.
In his letter, the former adviser expressed appreciation to Makinde for the opportunity to serve, acknowledging the confidence placed in him and the experience gained during his time in government.
He also commended the governor for his leadership, support and encouragement, describing his appointment as an opportunity to contribute to the administration’s policies, vision and development programmes.
Oyeleke further reaffirmed his commitment to the peace, progress and development of Oyo State despite his decision to leave the government.
Before his appointment as Special Adviser on Budget and Economic Planning, Oyeleke served two terms in the Oyo State House of Assembly and also held the position of local government chairman.
His resignation comes against the backdrop of political realignments and changes involving public officials and political appointees in the Makinde administration ahead of the 2027 general elections.
