Rivers 2027: Rainbow Coalition Presents Chinda For Governorship, Releases Full List Of Assembly, National Assembly Candidates
The Rainbow Coalition in Rivers State has unveiled its candidates for the 2027 general election with Rt Hon Ogundu Kingsley Chinda emerging as the governorship candidate under the All Progressives Congress.
His running mate is Hon Engr Major Jack who was also listed as the deputy governorship candidate under the APC.
For the senatorial seats the coalition named Bro Felix Amaechi Obua for Rivers West Senatorial District under APC, Sen Onyesom Allwell Iheacho for Rivers East Senatorial District under APC and Sen Olaka Johnson Nwogu for Rivers South East Senatorial District under PDP.
For the State House of Assembly the document lists Hon Lolo I Opiende for Akuku Toru II, Hon Christopher K Offiks for Andoni, Tekenari W Granville for Asari Toru I, Enemi Alabo George for Asari Toru II, Soparagh S Jumbo for Bonny and Peters E Abbey for Degema all under APC.
Other Assembly candidates include Hon Aforji Igwe Obey for Eleme, Hon Chimezie C Nwankwo for Etche II, Hon Dumle Maol for Gokana, Bulabari H Loolo for Khana II, Ezedunwo L Ejiekwu for Obio Akpor I and Okobiriari A Davids for Ogu Bolo all under APC, while Hon Ignatius O Onwuka for Etche I, Justina Emeji for Emohua, Prince Lemchi Nyeche for Ikwerre, Barile Nwako for Khana I and Emilia L Amadi for Obio Akpor II are under PDP.
For the House of Representatives the coalition listed Hon Cyril Godwin Hart for Degema and Bonny Federal Constituency, Hon Jack Isobo Solomon for Akuku Toru and Asari Toru Federal Constituency, Hon Linda Somiari Stewart for Okrika and Ogu Bolo Federal Constituency, Hon Frederick Boma Apiafi for Andoni Opobo and Nkoro Federal Constituency and Hon Felix Uche Nwaeke for Eleme Tai and Oyigbo Federal Constituency all under APC.
It also includes Hon Dumnamene R Dekor for Khana and Gokana Federal Constituency, Rt Hon Martin C Amaewhule for Obio Akpor Federal Constituency and Hon Blessing C Amadi for Port Harcourt II Federal Constituency under APC, while Kelechi G Nwogu for Etche and Omuma and Arthur O Uchendu for Ikwerre and Emohua are under PDP.
The Rainbow Coalition arrangement appears to be a strategic alliance involving both APC and PDP stakeholders in Rivers State ahead of the 2027 polls aimed at consolidating support and ensuring balanced representation across all constituencies.
