Manchester United’s Old Trafford stadium was transformed into a Christian worship venue on Saturday as Nigerian pastor Jerry Eze led thousands of worshippers at the NSPPD UK Prayer Conference.

The gathering, organised by Eze’s Streams of Joy International, drew Christians from across the United Kingdom and other locations for prayers, worship and fellowship.

The event featured several Nigerian gospel ministers, including Sunmisola Agbebi, Mercy Chinwo, Dunsin Oyekan and Kaestrings, who joined Eze during the programme.

Although attendance was free, participants were required to register beforehand due to the venue’s limited capacity.

Interest in the conference reportedly increased in the days leading up to the event, with social media users claiming that available spaces had been filled and some seeking spare registration slots on platforms including TikTok.

The event gave the 74,000-capacity home of Manchester United a different setting from its usual football environment, with the stadium hosting the prayer gathering during the Premier League’s break for international fixtures.
