I’ll Be Nigeria’s President in Your Lifetime, Natasha Osawaru Tells Grandfather
Edo State lawmaker, Natasha Osawaru Idibia has told her grandfather, Chief Gabriel Igbinedion, that she will become president of Nigeria while he is still alive.
She made the remark at Igbinedion’s 92nd birthday celebration in Edo State. Osawaru, 31, represents Egor Constituency in the State House of Assembly and is the assembly’s minority leader. She is married to musician Innocent “2Baba” Idibia.
Addressing the Esama of Benin, she praised him as he ages and said she would make him proud. “I promise you that I’ll be the president of this country before you go,” she said.
Igbinedion is a businessman and philanthropist and founder of Igbinedion University, Okada. The family is a major force in Edo public life. The birthday drew politicians and business figures.
The comment is a personal pledge at a family event, not a declared 2027 or later ticket. Osawaru has not published a manifesto or party nomination for the presidency. It is the first time she has stated the ambition in public in these terms.
