RealWarriPikin Apologises After On-Stage Moment With Timaya, Says Husband Is Angry
Comedian, Anita Asuoha, known as RealWarriPikin, has apologised after a viral clip of her joining Timaya on stage at the AFRIMMA awards in Dallas.
She said she was backstage when the singer asked for a woman during his performance of *Ukwu*. She ran out in high spirits. She said she did not know the routine involved jumping onto him and that she first refused. Timaya, she said, told her not to spoil the show. She then took part.
On stage the crowd laughed. Online, viewers accused her of disrespecting her marriage. Some told her to leave her husband, Ikechukwu. She said she takes full responsibility, that the moment was out of character, and that Ikechukwu is angry. She is in the United States, she added, which makes the distance harder.
She asked critics where they expected her to go and said she is staying in the marriage. She distinguished between people who were worried and people who were only dragging her.
Timaya has not issued a matching public statement in the reports around her apology. The clip remains the record of what the audience saw. Her video is the record of how she wants it read: an unplanned bit that played better in the hall than on the phone.
