Badejo to Assume Office as LASU Vice-Chancellor September 20
Professor Ayodeji Badejo will officially take over as the Vice-Chancellor of Lagos State University (LASU) on September 20.
The university’s Deputy Registrar and Coordinator of the Centre for Information and Public Relations, Oluwayemisi Thomas-Onashile, confirmed this on Wednesday evening.
Badejo, a professor of Guidance and Counselling, was appointed by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to succeed Professor Ibiyemi Olatunji-Bello, whose five-year tenure ends with her retirement.
Thomas-Onashile said the appointment was made in line with the provisions of the Lagos State University Law, 2004, as amended.
The governor’s decision was announced in a statement issued on Wednesday by the state Commissioner for Information and Strategy, Gbenga Omotoso.
Born on August 4, 1962, Badejo obtained both her Master of Education and PhD degrees in Guidance and Counselling from the University of Lagos.
She is expected to commence her tenure following the expiration of Olatunji-Bello’s term.
